The Glass Beach Inn B&B is located within walking distance of Glass Beach, which derives its name from the tons of polished glass washed on the beach, and the historic Skunk Train, which takes passengers along the redwood logging route across some 30 bridges and trestles. Turn-of-the-century Fort Bragg, once a company lumber town, now bustles with antique stores, art galleries, and restaurants. Guests staying at the Glass Beach Inn can walk to hiking areas, boating, fishing, whale watching, the North Coast Brewing Company, and the Mendocino Chocolate Company. The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, the only botanical gardens in the continental United States fronting a coastline, are located less than three miles from the Glass Beach Inn B&B.
This gracious guest house was built in the 1920s as a private home, and in 1980 was renovated into a charming and unique inn, retaining the Craftsman style. Each morning a generous breakfast of eggs, ham, bacon, potatoes, and fresh juices and fruits is freshly prepared and served to guests in the dining room. Guests are welcome to take a breakfast tray to their room. Complimentary afternoon refreshments and snacks, such as homemade cookies, brownies or fudge are also served.
Each room at the inn is furnished with its own distinct style and uniquely decorated, with motifs ranging from floral patterns and lace to nautical. All rooms have a private bath with tub/shower combination. Central to the Inn is the sitting room, which serves as a serene setting for conversation, reading or playing games. Guests can feel free to watch television or a movie, and play board games. A private hot tub is available for guests to relax in during their stay. Guestrooms have queen beds, comforters, and antique furniture. Some rooms have love seats, fireplaces, cable television, VCR/DVD player, microwave oven and refrigerator.

From the San Francisco International Airport:
Go east toward S. Link Rd.
Turn slight right onto S. Link Rd.
Make a sharp right turn onto N. McDonnell Rd.
Immediately turn right onto Road 18.
Merge onto Highway 101 North toward San Fransisco.
Merge onto I-380 W. toward I-280/San Bruno.
Merge onto I-280 N. toward San Fransisco.
Continue for approximately 6 miles.
Take CA-1 N. toward 19th Ave./Golden Gate Bridge.
Continue for approximately 7.4 miles.
Merge onto US-101 N. via the exit on the left.
After 132 miles, turn left onto CA-20/Flower St.
After 33 miles, turn slight right onto CA-1/S. Main St./Shoreline Highway.
Follow Main St. to the property. |
