Property Info
Location. Overlooking the sailboats of the Marina del Rey's main channel, the Inn at Playa del Rey, located in Playa del Rey, Calif., is three blocks from the Pacific Ocean and five minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport. There is a 30 mile bicycle path a few blocks away; the inn has bicycles available to take on the path. Venice Beach and Manhattan Beach are approximately a five-mile drive.
Hotel Features. The Inn at Playa del Rey, a New England-style beach house, has a view of 300 acres of natural marshes. Drawing from childhood memories of Cape Cod, the architect of the inn created a light-filled interior designed to bring a sense of the natural marshes and salt air into its spaces. Outdoor areas include a sunbathing area surrounded the wetlands, rose garden with fragrant lemon trees, and a back deck overlooking the marina. Complimentary hot buffet breakfast featuring market fresh fruits, home baked breads and muffins and baked egg soufflés, is served every morning in a sunny Tuscan breakfast room. Afternoon tea and lemonade, and evening hors d'ouevres with California wine are also served daily.
Guestrooms. The 21 guestrooms and suites at Inn at Playa del Rey offer private bathrooms and fine white linens and down pillows. Cable televisions with VCRs, telephones with voicemail, high-speed Internet access and fluffy bathrobes are included. Some rooms have marina or bird sanctuary views, fireplaces, jetted spa tubs or sun-warmed decks.
Expert Tip. The infamous 15-hole Westchester Golf Course, located just two miles from the inn, offers night golfing with its lighted course.

From Los Angeles Airport:
Take Sepulveda Blvd N to Lincoln Blvd (Rte 1) N.
Lincoln splits from Sepulveda about 1/2 mile north of airport.
Stay in the left lane and bear left onto Lincoln.
Continue north on Lincoln 2.5 miles to the light at Jefferson Blvd.
Turn left on Jefferson and travel almost one mile west to the end of Jefferson to Culver Blvd.
Turn left on Culver and continue 1/2 mile on Culver to the inn, which is on the right. |
